Patna: Aurangabad police arrested five persons and claimed to have cracked the case of loot of cash from a Gramin Bank under Rafiganj police station in the district on September 28. Police also seized Rs 70,000 cash looted from the bank, materials for manufacturing countrymade bombs, two pistols, three cartridges besides two bikes from the possession of arrested persons.

It may be mentioned here that armed criminals had looted over Rs 5 lakh cash from Bhadoa branch of Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank (MBGB) under Rafiganj police station in Aurangabad district on September 28, 2016. Police said that soon after the incident separate police teams were constituted to crack the case. The police teams carried out raids in areas under the jurisdictions of Madanpur, Rafiganj and Pesar police stations and arrested five persons involved in cash loot.

Aurangabad SP Satyaprakash said that the entire plan was masterminded by one Santosh Kumar, a native of Kasma police station in Aurangabad. He said that Santosh is wanted in connection with cases of cash loot from different banks in Bihar and Jharkhand. Raids are being conducted to arrest him, he said adding that the arrested persons had been identified as Krishna Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Jaiprakash, Sanjay and Jitendra alias Kaila, all natives of Pesar police station.
