Dhanbad (Jharkhand) : A 23 year old youth working as a technician in Kumardhubi Industrial Zone, Dhanbad, 55 km away from the coal capital, has tested positive for Coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the first case in Dhanbad and 29th positive case in Jharkhand. This information was confirmed by Dhanbad DC Amit Kumar on April 16, 2020, late evening. The patient is a resident of Baghakuri locality at Kumardhubi.
Soon after this information reached Dhanbad district administration, the entire Baghakuri locality was sealed and curfew was imposed there. The patient has been shifted to an isolation ward of BCCL Hospital, Dhanbad. Officials are trying to know as with how many person the youth had come in contact with. Two persons have died due to COVID-19 in Jharkhand till date.
