Patna : Police on July 21, 2018, arrested one Gaurav alias Golu, an associate of Sanjeev Kumar who had opened fire on a mother-daughter duo inside their house at Daudbigha locality under Agamkuan police station on July 20, 2018, morning. Golu was accompanying Sanjeev when he entered the house and had escaped with him after the incident. Police arrested him within 24 hours of the incident.
It may be recalled here that Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Kurji locality in Patna, along with his friend Gaurav alias Golu had reached Daudbigha locality and fired at Anita Devi and her daughter Riya causing serious injuries to them and escaped leaving their bike outside the hosue. Both the injured were admitted to a private nursing home in Rajendra Nagar where their condition is
reportedly serious.
Police sources said that soon after the incident, they started inquiring about the whereabouts of both the youth and came to know about the location of Sanjeev’s associate Gaurav alias Golu. Police arrested Golu between Digha and Patrliputra Colony. Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj confirmed his arrest.
Meanwhile, police sources revealed that Golu told them during interrogation that Sanjeev has escaped to Nepal. Golu said that he came to know about it when he called him, police said.
Police said that during interrogation, Golu said that Sanjeev was forcing Riya to marry him, a proposal she had rejected many times. He further said that Riya had stopped talking to Sanjeev making him furious. He told the police that Sanjeev was keeping a pistol for past three-four months. Golu, however, said he was not aware from where Sanjeev procured the pistol.
