FIR lodged Ara Jail inmate Butan Chaudhary for using mobile phone inside jail

Ara : A named FIR was lodged on April 23, 2019, with  Ara Town police station against an inmate of Ara Jail  Butan Chaudhary for allegedly using mobile phone inside the jail. Police will take printout CDR of the mobile phone to find out who he was speaking to from inside the jail.

Ara Jail Superintendent, Niranjan Pandit, said that he had conducted intensive raids in every ward of Ara jail on April 18, 2019, during which a SIM was recovered from Ward No 7 of the jail. Later, he came to know that Butan Chaudhary used that SIM. He said that Butan Chaudhary, a resident of Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station, was caught with cache of arms including AK-47 during last panchayat elections and a number of cases of rangdari ( extortion) and murder are lodged against him with different police stations in Bhojpur district.

Ara Jail Superintendent Niranjan Pandit said Butan Chaudhary was convicted in an Arms Act case and was facing trial in Ara Court in some other cases. He said that it is a serious matter that the notorious criminal was using SIM from inside the jail. Butan Chaudhary was recently shifted to Bhagalpur Central jail on April 20, 2019.
