Ara : A named FIR was lodged by Chauri police station in Bhojpur district against one Bijay Rai on April 2, 2020, for allegedly hurting sentiments of a community on social media.
SHO, Chauri police station, Raj Kishore Singh, said that a local leader of a national political party Bijay Rai posted some objectionable item against a particular community on social media on March 29, 2020, around 1.14 pm. As the post went viral on social media, Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar directed Piro DSP to inquire into the matter. After inquiry, a named FIR was lodged by Chauri police station against Bijay Rai under section 153 and 66 of IT Act on the direction of Bhojpur DM Roushan Kushwaha and SP Sushil Kumar.
