Muzaffarpur: Muzaffarpur police have lodged FIR against five persons for selling sub-standard edible oil by putting stickers of few reputed firms on them. Police conducted raids at 30 shops of Muzaffarpur town on February 2 and seized huge quantity of sub-standard edible oil from five of them.

The raids started at 3 pm and continued 9 pm on February 2, 2017. The raids followed complaints from some reputed firms. Two officials of these firms accompanied police during the raids. Four persons were taken into custody from three shops by police. The seized edible oil would be sent for chemical test. Muzaffarpur town supplies edible oil worth about Rs 2 crore to different districts of North Bihar per mont. Muzaffarpur DM has ordered for stern action against traders selling sub-standard edible oil.
