Ara : On the direction of Director, Primary Education, Bihar Government, District Programme Officer (establishment), Education Department, Bhojpur, has instituted a named FIR with Nawada police station (PS), Ara, against 44 contractual teachers under Sandesh Block in the district, for allegedly getting jobs on the basis of fake letters of Director, Primary Education, Patna. All of them have been charged with preparing joining letters with the fake signature of Director, Primary Education. The fake letters were attached to the FIR in which payment of 44 contractual teachers was ordered.
The FIR said that 44 persons were appointed as contractual teachers in different schools under Sandesh Block in Bhojpur District. Meanwhile, the matter figured on WhatsApp groups and even in newspapers on April 27, 2021. The Block Education Officer (BEO), Sandesh, Kesari Sudhir Singh had filed an FIR against unknown persons with Sandesh police station in this connection. After institution of FIR, police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the named accused.
Thirty-four contractual teachers were appointed on August 12, 2010, while 44 teachers were appointed on December 28, 2010, but the education department approved appointment of only 34 teachers. These 44 contractual teachers were not paid despite discharging their duties. The matter was raised in Bihar Legislative Council by a Member in 2014 and the matter was forwarded to a House Committee. The Committee held a meeting with the officials concerned in 2016 and recommended for re-appointment of 44 teachers and release of their honorarium. As the aforesaid letter of Director, Primary Education, went viral on the WhatsApp on April 27, 2021, the officials got alert. They inquired into the matter and the irregularities came out of closet.
