Muzaffarpur: Police on November 29, 2016, evening lodged an FIR against five officials including Principal Secretary, state education department, R K Mahajan, district education officer ( DEO), Muzaffarpur, S M Kanth, and former district programme officer, Muzaffarpur, Neeta Pandey, in connection with payment of Rs 10 crore as salary to teachers appointed on the basis of fake Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) certificates under Meenapur and Bandra blocks in Muzaffarpur district.
This followed the directive of the court of CJM, Muzaffarpur, early in the day. The court directed police to lodge an FIR against these officials with Town police station, Muzaffarpur, under different sections of IPC including 120 (B), 420 and 471, after hearing the complaints filed by Pankaj Kumar, advocate. The petitioner, in his complaint, alleged payment of huge amount as salary to the teachers appointed on the basis of fake TET certificates under Meenapur and Bandra blocks without tallying the list with the official list of education department.
