Ara : Director, Secondary Education, Bihar government, Rajeev Prasad Singh Ranjan, had asked Bhojpur District Education Officer (DEO) four months back to send a report to his office about all the coaching centres running in the district mentioning whether they were registered or applied for registration, by April 25, 2017. But, the files concerning coaching institutions are traceless and all efforts made to trace them during last four months have failed.
As per the provision of the Bihar Coaching Institute (Control and Regulation) Act, 2010, all the coaching centres have to be registered. Education department had issued direction on December 13, 2016, to all the coaching institutes to get themselves registered by January 31, 2017, failing which action will be taken against the coaching institutes concerned.
To comply with the order of the education department, office of Bhojpur District Education Officer had directed all the coaching institute owners to get their institutes registered and owners of several institutes had applied for registration but the file concerned has become traceless in the DEO office as it has no record of the coaching institutes. The DEO office also does not know how many coaching institutes are running in Bhojpur district. Earlier, the incharge DEO Sultan Ahmad had warned the employees of action if the files are not found but to no avail.
Over five hundred coaching institutes are running in different parts of Bhojpur district without registration and students from Buxar, Rohtas, Kaimur, Arwal district come here to study. After implementation of the Bihar Coaching Institute (Control and Regulation) Act, 2010, all the coaching institutes had to get themselves registered within one month but even after seven years, not a single coaching institute has been registered.
DEO, Ram Pravesh Singh, said a checklist of 39 coaching institutes is being prepared and will be sent to the BEOs concerned and report will be sent to the Director, Secondary Education, by April 25, 2017. He said action would be taken against the owners of defaulting coaching institute.
