Female constable arrested at Ara for fraud at recruitment test

Ara : Irregularities in constable appointment test conducted by the Kendriya Chayan Parishad in 2017 came to surface on July 15, 2018, at New Police Line when Bhojpur police arrested a constable Sulekha Kumari at Ara during medical check-up. Sergeant Major Manoj Ram lodged an FIR against her and an unidentified person with Nawada police station, Ara.

Sergeant Major Manoj Ram said that an examination for the appointment of police constables was held by the Kendriya Chayan Parishad in 2017 and altogether 215 constables including Sulekha Kumari, wife of Amit Kumar of village Harnath under Gopalpur police station in Bhagalpur district, were appointed. Sulekha Kumari was ordered to join at Ara, headquarter of Bhojpur district. During medical check-up and verification of other papers on July 13, 2018, some anomalies were detected in the appointment of Sulekha Kumari and when queried, she confessed that another girl  had appeared on her behalf her at the examination after which she was arrested.

Sergeant Major Ram said that during medical check-up, her height was found only 155.8cm against 157.7cm recorded earlier and even measurement of other body parts differed. After that the Chairman, Kendriya Chayan Parishad and Bhojpur SP were apprised of the fact. On the direction of the Chairman, Kendriya Chayan Parishad, an Officer on Special Duty(OSD) Kamlesh Kumar reached Ara on July 13 itself. Medical check-up of Sulekha Kumari was once again carried out before  the inquiry committee during which anomalies in height, measurement of body, photograph, documents and thumb print through biometric system were detected.
