Gurugram ( Haryana) : World No 113 Feliciano Lopez, 37, Spain, beat World No 38 Gilles Simon, 34, France, in the final to win the Queen’s Club Championships, London, singles title. Lopez upset Simon in a three-set thriller in the final 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 in 2 hr 49 minutes. He had also won the title here in 2017 and was runners-up in 2014.

Lopez fired 16 Aces in the match to 8 by Simon. He won 3 break points in the match to 1 by Simon. Lopez won 3 games in a row in the match to 2 by Simon. The Spaniard won 74 service points to 73 by Simon. Lopez, however, committed 4 double faults to 1 by Simon. Lopez had defeated World No 18 Milos Raonic, Canada, in the quarter-finals and World No 21 Felix Auger- Aliassime, 18, Canada, in the semi-finals. Lopez now leads Simon 6-2 head to head.
