Patna : World No 2 in ATP rankings and winner of 20 Grand Slam singles titles Roger Federer, 37, Switzerland, and World No 10 and winner of 13 Grand Slam titles Novak Djokovic, 31, Serbia, have reached the semi-finals of Cincinnati Masters 1,000 at Mason near Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Federer has won the Cincinnati Masters title 7 times while Djokovic is yet to win the singles title here.

Federer beat winner of three Grand Slam titles Stan Wawrinka, 33, Switzerland, in a tough three-set encounter 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 in the quarters-finals on August 17, 2018, while Djokovic defeated World No 29 Milos Raonic 27, Canada, in a three-set thriller 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in the quarters-finals. Djokovic had defeated World No 5 Grigor Dimitrov, 27, Bulgaria, in three-sets 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the third round.

Djokovic, the World No 10, will play Marin Cilic, 29, Croatia, in the semi-finals on August 18 evening while Federer will play World No 11 David Goffin, Belgium. Goffin defeated World No 3 Juan Martin del Porto, 29, Argentina, in the quarters-finals 7-6, 7-6. Cilic beat World No 13 Pablo Carreno Busta, Spain, in the quarters-finals 7-6, 6-4.
