Patna : Third Seed and six time champion Roger Federer, 38, Switzerland, beat 8th seed Matteo Berrettini, 23, Italy, in straight sets in Group Bjorn Borg match at O2 Arena, London, UK, on November 12, 2019. Federer beat World N0 8 Berrettini 7-6, 6-3 in 78 minutes winning 2 break points besides 3 games in a row in the match.

Federer, who had lost his first match in the Group to 5th seed Dominic Thiem, Austria, on November 11, 2019, won 50 service points to 41 by US Open semi-finalist Berrettini. The Swiss fired 9 Aces in the match to 6 by the Italian. Federer’s winning percentage both on his first and second serve ( 78% & 68%) was much higher than that of Berrettini (69 % & 59%). Federer now leads Berrettini, who had lost his first match to 2nd seed Novak Djokovic, Serbia.
