Bagaha : Communication on Gautam Buddha Setu which connects to Utter Pradesh across river Gandak under Madhubani block in West Champaran district remained paralysed for several hours on June 20, 2017, due to blockade put up on the Setu near Dhanaha police station by farmers demanding immediate compensation their land acquired for Setu guide bund and Dhanaha – Bansi road.

The protesting Dhanaha farmers were led by Yashwant Singh, Ajay Pandey and Ramnath Yadav demanding compensation of their land. They alleged that that despite lapse of five years they were yet to get compensation for their land.

SDM, Bagaha, Dharmendar Kumar, Deputy Collector Land Reforms (DCLR), Bagaha, Jaichandra  Yadav and other officials reached there and restored traffic on the Setu after pacifying the farmers.  Valmikinagar MLA Dhirendra Pratap alias Rinku Singh said that their compensation will paid very soon.
