Ara : Some unidentified armed miscreants shot dead a farmer at village Kusumi under Tarari police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on November 18, 2021, evening. The deceased was identified as Devkant Rai .
Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. An FIR has been lodged with Tarari PS in this connection. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.
SHO, Tarari PS, said that Devkant Rai was at his house when some unidentified armed persons came and pumped bullet into his body killing him on the spot and escaped.
It may be mentioned here that some miscreants had shot dead the newly elected Mukhia of Babubandh Panchayt under Charpokhari PSn on November 15, 2021, when he was returning home on his motorcycle. Police have arrested three persons in this connection so far.
In another incident, some armed miscreants shot at and injured a youth in New Sheetal Tola locality under Nawada PS, Ara, on November 18, 2021, evening. The injured identified as Sunny Kumar, 25, sone of Minilal Yadav, was admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital. Money matter is said to be cause behind the incident. An FIR has been lodged with Nawada PS and police are investigating the matter.
Sunny Kumar said at Ara Sadar Hospital said that his younger brother Vikky Kumar had borrowed Rs 6,000 from Mithai Yadav of the area and he was now demanding his money. When both brothers were at their house, Mithai Yadav along with his aides came on November 18 evening and got embroiled with Vikky Kumar and also thrashed him. He requested them to spare his brother and that he would return the money in two or three days but to no avail, Sunny alleged. When he intervened, interfered, they shot at and injured him and escaped, Sunny alleged.
