Ara : Some armed miscreants shot dead a farmer at Sonbarsa Diara area under Karnamepur police outpost in Bhojpur district on March 8, 2020, evening, when he had gone to his field to bring fodder for cattle. The deceased was identified as Ashok Mishra, 38, son of a retired armyman Brij Kumar Mishra.
Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for pos-tmortem. A named FIR has been lodged by Karnamepur police outpost in this connection against three persons on the statement of father of the deceased. Police are conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Police recovered a countrymade pistol and a blank cartridge from the spot. The deceased is survived by his wife Pushpa Devi, two daughters, and a son.
SHO, Karnamepur police outpost ,Santosh Kumar Razak said that Ashok Mishra of Sonbarsa Diara area was a farmer. He had gone to his field atthe village in the evening to bring fodder for cattle. Meanwhile, some armed miscreants came and pumped bullets into his body killing him on spot and escaped. The SHO said that he had some tiff with few youth of the village who had threatened him with dire consequences two days ago and added that a woman had worked as liner in the murder of Ashok Mishra.
