Ara : Bhola Sah, a farmer, chopped off throat of his wife Kanchan Devi, 35, at village Hadrua under Tarari police station in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on November 25, 2020. Police recovered the body from a paddy field at the village and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
A named FIR has been lodged by Tarari police station in this connection on the statement of son of the deceased Appu Kumar against his father. Later, police arrested Bhola Sah and sent him to jail after interrogation. Bhola Sah confessed his crime. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained.
SHO, Tarari police station, said that Bhola Sah along with his wife Kanchan Devi had gone to paddy field for harvesting. In the meantime, he had a tiff with his wife and in a rage of anger, he chopped off throat of his wife Kanchan Devi with a sickle and left the body in the field. He went to the Kali temple at the village and put the sickle on the feet of the Goddess saying and said he had sacrificed a goat. The villagers smelt a rat and took him to the field where they found body of his wife lying in a pool of blood. The villagers informed police. Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and also arrested Bhola Sah.
