Excise SI suspended, action recommended against Gopalganj Excise Suptd

Patna: Principal Secretary, Excise and Prohibition department, K K Pathak on Monday suspended sub-inspector of excise Manoj Kumar and excise constable Ashok Kumar, both  posted at Gopalganj, for their negligence in checking  manufacture and distribution of liquor. Five chaukidars of the department posted at  Kuchaikot, one at Town PS and another at Jadopur have also been suspended.
DM of Gopalganj had recommended action against them as during a preliminary investigation it was found they had connived with the liquor traders and encouraged sale and manufacture of illicit liquor in their areas. Action has also been recommended against the district excise superintendent Priyaranjan and inspectors too. During investigation by administration,it was found illicit liquor factories had flourised in the district even after total prohibition imposed on April 5.
