Patna : Bihar CM and JD(U) National President Nitish Kumar on December 17, 2017, said that the electronic voting machines (EVMs) have helped making elections transparent and impartial. Nitish said those criticising the EVMs were doing so out of the fear of defeat.

Nitish’s remarks came a day before the counting of votes for the Assembly polls in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, and in the backdrop of allegations of EVM tampering in Gujarat to favour the BJP. “Some people may criticize the EVMs out of fear of defeat, but the EVMs have made elections transparent and impartial,” the Bihar CM aserted. Now, nobody can deprive anyone of the his right to cast votes,” said Nitish in atweet. He predicted a comfortable majority for the BJP in Gujarat.
