Evans stuns Isner to reach ATP Delray Beach Open final

Patna : World No 82 Radu Albot, 29, Moldova, and World No 148 Daniel Evans, 28, Great Britain, will clash in the final of Delray Beach Open, an ATP World Tour 250 points tournament, played on hard courts at Delray Beach, Florida, USA, at 1.30 am on February 25, 2019.

Evans stunned World No 9 and 2nd seed John Isner, 33, USA, in three-sets 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 in 1 hr 32 minutes in the semi-finals on February 24, 2019. Isner fired 16 Aces in the match to 4 by Evans. But, Evans broke Isner’s service thrice in the match while the latter broke his service once. Evans won 7 games in a row in the match to 3 by Isner. Evans’ winning percentage on both his first and second serve (88% & 68%) was much better than that of Isner (80% & 46 %).

Albot beat World No 84 Mackenzie McDonald, 23, USA, in three-sets 3-6, 6-0, 6-0 in 1hr 30 minutes in the semi-finals inflicting a double bagel on his rival. Albot broke McDonald’s service 7 times in the match while the latter broke his service twice. Albot won 12 games in a row in the match to 4 by McDonald. Albot fired 6 Aces in the match to 2 by McDonald.
