Patna: Economic offences wing (EOW) of Bihar police too has been associated with the Intermediate examinations result scam as special investigation team found evidences relating to transactions in the toppers’ results involving the kingpin Bachcha Rai, principal of Vishun Rai College of Vaishali, the then chairman of Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh and his wife and former JD(U) MLA Usha Sinha.
Senior SP, Patna, Manu Maharaaj o Sunday said he two days police remand of Bachcha Rai concluded on Sunday and he was sent to Beur central jail from Kotwali police station where he was questioned by the SIT. Police found evidences of over a dozen colleges being run by Bachcha Rai and his immediate family in Vaishali and Muzaffarpur districts. He had purchased over 200 land plots at different places in Bihar in last ten years and none of the examinees from his college had failed in the last decade. The call detail records of mobile sets of Bachcha Rai revealed he was in regular touch with the then BSEB chairman and his wife who are absconding .
The SIT, which had arrested Veena Singh, a Hindi department lecturer in Bachaha Rai’s college, was quizzed by the SIT on Sunday. She too was in constant touch with the then BSEB chairman and his wife. Her mobile’s CDR also confirmed she was in regular touch with Usha Sinha. Veena had signed on the admit card of Shalini Rai, daughter of Bachcha Rai,who had topped the 2014 tenth class examinations. Her answer-sheets were written at the Ganga Devi Mahila College though for other students of Vishun Rai College the examination centre was at Hajipur.
