Patna : England scored 163/4 in 20 overs against Sri Lanka (SL) in a Group 1 match of ICC T20 World Cup at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah, UAE, on November 9, 2021, night, as opener Jos Buttler scored an unbeaten 101 in 67 balls hitting 6 fours and 6 sixes, his maiden T20I century. It is also the first century scored in this ICC 20 World Cup. Buttler hit a six off fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera on the last ball of 20th over to reach his century. England scored 58 runs in last 5 overs. SL had won the toss and opted to bowl.
Buttler and captain Eoin Morgan added 112 runs for the 4th wicket in 78 balls. Moragn fell to spinner Wanindu Hasaranga on the 2nd ball of 19th overs for 40 in 36 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes..
