Patna : Australia are in commanding in 3rd test at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia, as well as England were struggling at 31/4 in 12 overs in their second innings at stumps on day 2 staring at defeat as fast bowler Mitchell Starc and debutant fast medium bowler Scott Boland took two wickets each. England captain Joe Root was unbeaten on 12 while all-rounder Ben Stokes was batting on 2 at stumps.
Starc took the wickets opener Zak Crawley ( 5) and Dawid Malan (0) on successive ball in 5th over. It was Starc’s 3rd over on the day. Boland took the wickets of opener Haseeb Hameed ( 7) and spinner Jack Leach ( 0) in the only over he bowled on day 2. England trail by 51 runs.
Earlier, Australia wre all out for 267 in their first innings on day 2 with opener Marcus Harris scoring 76 runs. England had scored 185 runs in their first innings. Australia are leading 2-0 in the five-match Ashes Series.
