Patna : England were 91/6 in 33 overs in their second innings at tea on Day 3 of the 4th cricket test against India at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on March 6, 2021, as spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel took 3 wickets each in the second session of the play. England trail by 69 runs.

Earlier, India were all out for 365 in their first innings in the first session of play on Day 3 as with spinner Washington Sundar remained unbeaten on 96 while  fellow spinner Axar Patel scored 43 runs. England had scored 205 runs in their first innings.scored

England, who were 6/0 at lunch, lost six wickets in the second session of play on Day 3 as Ashwin took 3/35 in 13 overs while Axar took 3/28 in 15 overs. England lost the wickets of opener Zak Crawley and star batsman Jonny Bairstow with only 10 runs on board. Craley fell to Ashwin for 5.

Bairstow also fell  to Ashwin for zero, his third  zero in last four innings. Bairstow had also scored zero in both the innings of 3rd test. Dominic Sibley fell to Axar forv 3 making it 20/3. All-rounder Ben Stokes fell lbw to Axar for 2 and it was 30/4. Ollie Pope fell to Axar for 15 making it 65/5. One run later, captain Joe Root fell to Ashwin for 30 in 72 balls with 3 fours and it was 66/6.
