Patna : England beat West Indies (WI) by 8 wickets in the 19th match of ICC World Cup at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, UK, on June 14, 2019, night, with, opener Joe Root scoring an unbeaten 100 in 94 balls with 11 fours, his 2nd century in the on going tournament and 16th ODI century overall. Root was declared Player of the Match. Replying to WI’s 212 all out in 44.4 overs, England scored 213/2 in 33.1 overs.

Opener Jonny Bairstow scored 45 in 46 balls with 7 fours while Chris Woakes scored 40 in 54 balls with 4 fours. Root and Bairstow added 95 runs in 88 balls for the first wicket.
