Patna : England defeated Sri Lanka (SL) by 26 runs in a Group 1 match of ICCT20 World Cup at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah, UAE, with opener Jos Butter scoring an unbeaten 101 in 67 balls hitting 6 fours and 6 sixes, his fist T20I century, the first century scored in the on  going tournament, and spinners Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali, and fast bowler Chris Jordan taking two wickets each. England captain Eoin Morgan scored 40 runs with 1 four and 3 sixes.

Chasing a target of 164 runs, SL were all out for 137 runs in 19 overs. This was England’s 4th victory in as many games in the tournament. Jos Buttler was named Player Of The Match. England had won the toss and opted to bowl.
