Patna : England beat 1992 champion Denmark 2-1 in UEFA Euro 2020 semi-final on July 8, 2021, at Wembley Stadium, London, to set up a final match with 1968 champion Italy. Harry Kane’s goal in extra time in 104 minute after Raheem Sterling had earned a penalty sealed England’s 2-1 victory ending Denmark great run in the tournament. Kane had missed the target as Denmark’s Kasper Schmeichel made a brilliant save. Kane, however, converted the rebound.

Earlier, Denmark player Simon Kjaer’s own goal (OG) in 39th minute had helped England level the score a 1-1.  Denmark had taken 1-0 lead after Mikkel Damsgaard scored goal through free-kick in 30th minute for the team. The match went to extra time after the two-teams remained locked 1-1 in regular 90 minutes.  England, the 1966 FIFAWorld Cup champion, have reached UEFA Euro final for the first time.

Denmark played 21 fouls during the match to 10 by England. One player of each side was shown Yeoolow Card during the match.
