Patna : England were 213/5 in their second innings in the third session of play on Day 4 in the first test against Pakistan at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, UK, with Jos Buttler (WK) unbeaten on 51, his 17th test fifty,  and Chros Woakes batting on 53. England need 64 runs to win this match. They have so added 96 runs for the 6th wicket.

England Captain Joe Root scored 42 while opener Dominic Sibley made 36. All-rounder Ben Stokes scored 9 while Ollie Pope scored 7. Opener Rory Burns, who had scored 4 in the first innings, scored 10 in the seond innings. Spinner Yasir Shah, who had taken four wickets in England first innings, has taken two wickets so far in the second innings. England had scored 219 runs in their first innings.

Pakistan had scored 326 in their first innings with opener Shan Masood scoring 156 and Babr Azam 69. Pakistan scored  169 in their second innings with Yasir Shah scoring 33. England fast bowler Stuard Broad took three wickets in Pakistan 2nd innings taking his tally to six wickets in the test.
