Patna : Opting to bat after winning the toss, England were all out for a modest 204 in 67.3 overs at tea on the second day of play in their first innings in 1st test against West Indies (WI) at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, UK, with Jason Holder (Captain) taking 6/412 in a devastating spell of fast bowling, his career best, and fellow fast bowler Shasnnon Gsabriel taking 4/62. Holder’s previous best was 6/59 in tests. England spinner Domnic Bess, 22, remained unbeaten on 31 in 44 balls with 4 fours.

For England captain Ben Stokes was the top scorer with 43 in 97 balls with 7 fours while Jos Butter (wk) scored 35 in 47 balls with 6 fours. Stokes and Buttler added 67 runs for the 6th wicket.  England opener Rory Burns scored 30 while Joe Denly made 18.
