Patna : Chasing a target of 359 runs, England were 156/3 in their second innings at stumps on Day 3 of 3rd Ashes Test against Australia at Headingley, Leeds, UK, on August 24, 2019, late night, with captain Joe Root batting on 75 in 189 balls hitting 7 fours, his 43rd test fifty,  while allp-rounder Ben Stokes was 2 not out in 50 balls. England still need 203 runs to win this test match with 7 wickets in hand.

England, who were shot out for a paltry 67 in their first innings following sensational collapse, were off to a equally disastrous start in their second innings as well losing their first two wickets for just 15 runs. Opener Rory Burns and Jason Roy scored just 7 and 8 runs respectively. But, Joe Root and Joe Denly added 126 runs for the third wicket facing over 315 balls. Denly fell to Josh Hazlewood for 50 in 155 balls with 8 fours.
