Patna : England were 311/9 in 102 overs in their second innings at stumps on the 4th day of third cricket test against India at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, UK, on August 21, still needing to score 210 runs to win the match with just one wicket in hand and the fifth day of the match still left. Spinner Adil Rashid was batting on 30 and fast bowler James Anderson on 8 were at the crease at stumps on the 4th day. Jasprit Bumrah, in a sensational spell of bowling, took 5/85 while Ishant Sharma took 2/70. Mohd Shami and Hardik Pandya took one wicket each. For England, Jos Buttler made a fighting 106 while allrounder Ben Stokes made a dogged 62 in 187 ball.

Bumrah, who had missed the three match T20 and ODI series as well as the first two test of the 5-match test series, had also taken two wickets in the first innings. Ishant Sharma, who has so far taken 4 wickets in the match, got the wicket of former England Captain and opener Alastair Cook for the 11th time. Cook is England’s leading run scorer in test matches.
