Patna : England were 287/8 in the third session of the play on day four the third cricket test against India at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, UK, on August 21, still needing to score 234 runs to win the match with only 2 wickets in hand and the entire fifth day’s play still left. Jos Butter, who scored 106 in 176 ball, and allrounder Ben Stoles, who scored 62 in 187 ball, tried their level best but in vain. Jasprit Bumrah, in a devastating spell of bowling, took 4/83 while Ishant Sharma took 2/70. Hardik Pandya and Mohd Shami also took one wicket each. Buttler and Ben Stokes were involved in 169 run partnership for the fifth wicket. Captain Joe root was out for 11 while wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow was out for duck.
