Encroachment on Ara Ramana Maidan continues

Ara : Patna High Court order notwithstanding encroachment on historical Ramana Maidan, Ara, is going on with impunity.  Ara Nagari Pracharini Sabhagar, Shaheed Bhawan, Mahant Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Sulabh Sauchalaya, Ram Leela Maidan, Gayatri Shakti Peeth, Hanuman Temple, Shiv Temple, Manas Mandir, Mazar are constructed on campus of Ramana Maidan. Even the Bhojpur district administration constructed about 8’ high podium, roads for pedestrians and motorcycle stand in front of Ara Civil Court on Ramana Maidan. Charges are realised from the people who park their motorcycles and cars at the illegal motorcycle stand.

The portion of Ramana Maidan, where temples are constructed, is divided and the managements of temples claim their ownership over the piece of land. The management of the Hanuman temple recently constructed about 20’ long shed and tiles studded on the floor under the shed in front of the temple and allotted places to the sweet vendors and realised money from them.

Though lease of the Nagari Pracharini Sabhagar, MMMM and other constructions has lapsed and the High Court had directed  the Bhojpur District administration to remove encroachment from Ramana Maidan, it itself constructed illegal podium, roads and motorcycle stand on Ramana Maidan after the court order instead of removing encroachment.
