Edmund to play Gasquet in the SF of European Open 2018

Patna : World No 15 in ATP rankings Kyle Edmund, 23, UK, will play World No 28 Richard Gasquet, 32, France, in the semi-finals of European Open, an ATP 250 points tournament, at Antwerp, Belgium, at 9 pm on October 20, 2018. World No 17 Diego Schwartzman, 26, Argentina, will clash with World No 38 Gael Monfils, 32, France, in the first semi-final the same day at 6.30 pm.

Edmund reached the semi-final after his quarter-finals opponent World No 97 Ilya Ivashka, 24, Belarus, retired before the match. Schwartzman defeated World No 32 Gilles Simon, 33, France, 6-4, 6-3 in the QF on October 19, 2018. Gasquest beat World No 58 Jan-Lennard Struff, 28, Germany, 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 in the QF. Struff hammaered 21 Aces in the match to 12 by Gasquet. Monfils beat World No 79 Vasek Pospisil, 28, Canada, 7-5, 6-4 in the QF on October 19.
