Patna : Only a day after the CBI conducted raids at 12 locations including Delhi, Ranchi, Puri, Gurugram and Patna including RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s Patna residence in connection with alleged irregularities in awarding the tender for development, maintenance and operation of BNR Hotels at Ranchi and Puri to private Hotel Ltd. Company in 2006, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on July 8, 2017, carried out search operation at three farm houses allegedly belonging to his daughter and Rajya Sabha member Dr Misa Bharti.

The ED carried out search operation at farm houses at Ghitorni, Bijwasan and Sainik farms in Delhi on July 8 in connection with its on going investigation into alleged Benaami land deals and tax evasion involving Lalu’s family members. The Income-tax (IT) official say they want to quiz Dr Misa Bharti and her husband Shailesh Kumar but they have avoided ignored IT summons so far. Both of them allegedly have links with Mishail Packers and Printers Private Limited which had entered into Benaami deal for purchasing farm house at Bijwasan area in Delhi.

It may be mentioned here that the CBI has registered a case u/s 120 B r/w 420 of IPC and Section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 against the then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, his wife and former CM Rabri DEvi and younger son and Bihar Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav, a private person based in New Delhi, two Directors of a private Hotel Ltd. Company, a private Projects/Marketing company based in Delhi, the then MD, IRCTC, and unknown others on the allegations of awarding the tender for development, maintenance and operation of BNR Hotels at Ranchi and Puri to the said private Hotel Ltd. Company in 2006.
