Ara : Three dozen railway employees under the banner of East Central Railway Karmchari Union (ECRKU), Buxar branch, observed a day long fast at Ara railway station under Danapur Division of East Central Railway, Hajipur, at the call of All India Railway Men’s Federation, to press their pending demands.
They were raising slogans against the Central government for what they called its anti-employee policy. Their main demands include introduction of Old Pension Policy in place of new one, Family Pension, change in Fitment formula, stopping privatization of the railway, a minimum payscale of Rs 26,000 by amending the provisions of 7th Pay Commission.
President ECRKU Manoj Kumar alleged that the Central government is anti-employees. He said that if the government does not concede their demands, they would be forced to resort to a more aggressive agitation.
