Muzaffarpur : A two year year old boy Akash Kumar of village Khairi in East Champaran district in North Bihar, who was admitted to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, on March 27, 2018, following symptoms of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES), died on late March 28 night.

Akash Kumar, 2, was son of Mukesh Manjhi of village Khairi under Banjaria police station in East Champaran district. He was undergoing treatment at PICU, SKMCH.

Three other children, all suspected cases of AES, are undergoing treatment at SKMCH. Paediatrician, SKMCH, Dr Brajmohan, said that only after arrival of Serologic test report it would be clear whether Akash had died due to AES and the other three children are  suffering from it.
