Motihari : East Champaran DM Shirshat Kapil Ashok on April 24, 2021, evening, issued an order directing that all shops and business establishments in the District will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday and Night Curfew will continue. The district has recorded 2,244 Covid-19 cases till date in April 2021. The DM said that the RTPCR Lab became operational at Sadar Hospital, Motihari,on April 25, 2021. The DM said,” We have sufficient stock of oxygen in the district.”
DM Ashok said that five dedicated Covid Care Centres with a total of 776 beds were running in the district where electricity,, drinking water, and all other essential facilities are available. Over 2,100 Covid-19 patients are under home isolation in the district and being provided telemedical facilities by the Health Department.
According to a press release of the District Administration, 63 Covid-19 patients were admitted to dedicated Covid Care Centres while 15 patients had been referred to Patna. A total of 52 Covid patients are admitted to Covid Care Centre at Motihari Sadar Hospital where 4 Ventilators are available. Two Ventilators provided from PM Care Fund are lying in ICU of Sadar hospital for last one year and are yet to made operational. Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr Akhilesh Singh confirmed this. The District Administration has created 205 containment zones in the district of which 139 zones fall in rural areas.
