Motihari : All the medicine shops remained closed on June 7, 2020, in East Champaran District following the call given by East Champaran Chemist Association to protest the cold blooded murder of Nawal Kishor Prasad, owner of Bajarang Medical Shop, Motihari, on June 6 evening. Dhrub Deo Narayan Singh, General Secretary, on June 7 demanded immediate arrest of criminals involved in the murder of Prasad and compensation to his next of kin.
East Champaran SP Navin Chandra Jha said that police were probing the murder of Prasad with the help of CCTV footage and assured that culprits would be arrested soon.
According to police souses, two motorcycle borne criminals reached Bajarang Medical Shop located at Balua Chowk in Motihari town on June 6, 2020, evening, and opened fire on shop owner Nawal Kishor Prasad and escaped on their bike towards Chandmari Chowk. Injured Prasad was rushed to Motihari Sadar Hospital by shop-keepers of the market where the doctor declared him brought dead. The cause of murder is yet to be known. SP Navin Chandra Jha, SDPO, Motihari, Arun Kumar Gupta, had visited the spot after the incident. Police are, however, yet to arrest the accused.
