Saharsa : Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Samastipur, R K Jain, on April 23, 2017, constituted  four-member team to inquire into the derailment of one bogie of Saharsa – Patna Rajyarani Express near Running Room at Saharsa railway station 6.30 am the same day. The probe team has been asked to submit its report within 24 hours. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident.

The bogie derailed while being brought over to platform number 2 by shunting loco pilot Ranjan Kumar after the bogies were cleaned. The derailment of one bogie delayed the departure of the train to Patna by nearly three hours. It was alleged that the shunting pilot had ignored the speed limit of 10 km per hour while bringing the train to platform number 2 and applied brake improperly.
