Gopalganj: Motorcycle-borne criminals opened fire at Raja Yadav, driver of husband of Kateya block pramukh, at Bagahi Kaanta late on January 25 evening triggering panic in the area. On getting information, Kateya and Bhore police carried out raids to nab those involved in firing. The entire area has been sealed and cops are checking vehicles on different roads to nab the culprits.
Locals said that Raja Yadav, who drives the four-wheeler of Anand Mishra and is a native of village Ter Khemraj under Kayeta police station, was on way to his village late on Wednesday evening on a four-wheeler. As Raja reached near Bagahi Kaanta, criminals riding a two-wheeler, overtook his vehicle and fired several rounds targeting the driver. Though the driver escaped unhurt, the criminals sped away on their bike. The local police are also interrogating Raja to know the reason behind the firing on him.
