Saharsa : A notorious criminal of Saharsa district Sohan Jha, who was involved in several cases of murder, dacoity and loot, was arrested on May 29, 2017, from his village Baghwa under Simribakhtiarpur police circle in the district by SHO, Balwaghat police outpost, Suman Kumar, following secret information. Confirming the arrest of Sohan Jha, SDPO, Simribakhtiarpur, Ajay Narayan Yadav, said police were searching for him for long as he was involved in several major crime.
Police sources said that Sohan Jha had allegedly taken a Supari of Rs 4 lakh to kill a businessman of village Bharauli Rakesh Singh, who was shot dead at Sulindabad under Sadar police station, Saharsa, on June 20, 2016. Other accused in Rakesh Singh murder case including Kaushal Yadav and Chhotu Mian had already been arrested earlier. Sohan Jha was allegedly involved in firing on medicine dealer Arun Bhagat at village Gopalpur under Balwaghat OP on December 31, 2016. Sohan Jha gang had also made an abortive bid to loot cash from a bank personnel under Mahishi police station, Saharsa, after firing on him.
