Chas (Jharkhand) : With a view to bringing out hidden science talent in each student to the fore, DPS Chas in Bokaro District in Jharkhand, organised a science exhibition ‘Aavishkar – Padharo Mhare Desh’ on virtual platform. The theme of the exhibition was ‘Ace of Technology for Eco-Friendly Development’ with thrust on “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India).
The exhibition was inaugurated by Soumen Chakraborty, Principal, GGPS, Bokaro. He inaugurated the event with the help of an ‘Invisible Ink’ which displayed the ‘Aavishkar’ (title).
Students from Classes VI to XI virtually presented their creative ideas showing their enthusiastic participation at the exhibition. The exhibition offered students the much-needed opportunity to showcase their creativity, innovation, and scientific temper.
The judges of the exhibition were : Dr Thakur Ashokanand, Head of Department of Physics and Vice Principal, Bokaro City College, and R K Jha, Senior Science Teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya Bokaro. The results of the exhibition were declaredon December 28, 2020.

The students from the four houses of the school Ganga, Yamuna, Sutlej, and Chenab presented their models in an innovative way and were able to explain the principles behind their designed projects on Sustainable Agricultural Practices, Waste Management, Future Transport and Communication, Educational Games and Apps, and other sub themes under the main theme.
The science exhibition was conducted in two different categories. In the Junior Category — from Classes VI to VIII, Sarika Suman & Aditya Harsh of Chenab House secured First Position, Falak Mishra & Radhika Srivastava of Sutlej House bagged Second position while Vaishnavi Ranjan & Raj Aryan of Jamuna House and Anshuman Choudhary (Class VI) & Mytakshara R.S of Ganga House jointly secured the Third Position.
In the Senior Category — from Classes IX to XI, Abhishek Kumar & Rahul Kumar of Ganga House secured First Position, Sreijan Sinha & Atharva Rai of Jamuna House bagged Second Position while Utsav Kumar Nirala & Aryan Raj of Chenab House and Shivam Kumar & Sonali Kumari of Sutlej house jointly secured Third Position.
In her message, Dr. Hemlata S Mohan, Chief Mentor, Delhi Public School, Chas, appreciated the efforts put in by the students to explore the scientific quest. She said, “In a world full of creative and passionate students, the importance of presenting the knowledge is even more significant. The School provides an apt platform to think creatively, transform ideas into projects and think out of the box, facilitating the holistic development of a child. Opportunities like this also pave the way for building a positive attitude in students. DPS Chas leaves no stone unturned to cater the needs of all students for best education in every field.”
Officiating Principal, DPS Chas, P Shailaja Jayakumar, said “The exhibition is an excellent example of active learning, a cornerstone for successful scientific learning that grooms children to be future-ready learners in life. These academic activities are wonderful tools that engage all students and teachers in learning new facts.”
