Chas (Jharkhand):  To acknowledge and applaud the achievements of the school students excelling in academics and bringing laurels to the school at the state and national level, DPS Chas in Bokaro District organised a felicitation ceremony ‘Abhyuday’ with enthusiasm on a virtual platform.

The function was graced by Soumen Chakraborty, Principal, GGPS-Sector V,  as the Chief Guest. The other dignitaries at the event were : Dr Hemlata S Mohan, Chief Mentor, DPS Chas, Pro Vice Chairman N Muralidharan, and Officiating Principal  P Shailaja Jayakumar.

The students presented a captivating cultural programme including the spectacular ‘Shiv Tandav’ dance after the welcome song, the School song,  and won the hearts of all who joined the programme.

At the felicitation ceremony, 65 students received gold medals, scholar badges, proficiency prizes, and special  awards. The Best House trophy was won by Ganga House. The toppers, district, state and zonal level winners of various competitive examinations were also felicitated. Rahul Kumar, the School Topper received the Principal’s Gold Medal for the best scholar while Sreijan Sinha and Pragya Pushkar received Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Gold medal for the Head Boy and Rani Lakshmibai Gold Medal for Head Girl respectively.

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Trophy for All Round Best Student (Junior Group) was conferred on Srishti Kumari. Pro Vice Chairman’s Gold Medal for the Best Scholar (Senior Group) was bagged by Sifa Praveen while Pt Bhimsen Joshi Gold Medal for the Best Student in Vocal Music was bestowed on Anjali. Vivek Kumar bagged Raja Ravi Verma Gold Medal for the Best Student in Art & Craft while Sundar Pichai Gold Medal for the Best Student in Computer Science (Senior Group) went to Aniket Rahi.

Chief Guest Soumen Chakroborty, an academician with three decades of educational experience, appreciated the scholars and the winners who were felicitated for their talents and asserted the significance of co -curricular activities and academic excellence in the holistic development of students. He applauded the school’s endeavours in this regard.

The Chief Mentor of the school Dr Hemlata S Mohan congratulated the students for their meticulous performance and motivated them with her words of wisdom and blessings. She guided the students to stroll on the path of sincerity and perseverance. She said, “Every child is blessed with a unique talent and they are capable of great success and being a good human being with core values. They have the ability to change the world. Undoubtedly we are very fortunate to have a team of dedicated teachers who are contributing in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.” She also congratulated the school for excellent performance at various exams.

Officiating Principal DPS Chas,  P Shailaja Jayakumar, appreciating the diligence and dedication of students acknowledged the support and handholding of the parents.  She also emphasised that school believes in fostering ethics and cultural values which is an integral part of holistic development. The function was organised adhering to the Covid 19 protocol.
