Chas (Jharkhand): Standing by the nation and society while showing concern for those suffering due to pandemic Coronavirus and in their mission of securing the future of citizens for a better and safer tomorrow, every member of the DPS Chas family in Bokaro District in Jharkhand came forward, contributed generously, and donated an amount of Rs 1.50 lakh to Jharkhand CM’s Relief Fund.

A cheque in this regard  was handed over by Officiating Principal of DPS Chas P Shailaja Jaykumar to the Deputy Commissioner(DC)  of Bokaro, Mukesh Kumar, at his office on May 11, 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, P Shailaja Jaykumar lauded the District Administration for the commendable measures in its fight against COVID -19. She also referred to the meticulous planning and execution of the means to bring back migrant labourers and students of Bokaro from different states, reaching books to school students, cleanliness of the city on a war footing, and the sanitising measures are all exemplary.

 DC Mukesh Kumar speaking on the occasion appreciated the co – operation he has received from all corners of the society. He praised the school authorities, medical staff, social workers, municipal cleaners, and people from all spheres of life who are directly or indirectly helping the people in this lockdown period and bringing life back to into normal and providing a stress free life to all the residents of Bokaro.

The DC talked about the programme for providing positivity through counsellors, artists, teacher, telecast on city channels, and reaching out to people at large. He also said the alertness must continue for a safe and healthy life. He recalled his visit to the DPS Chas for a function and appreciated the growth of the school under the stewardship of Dr Hemlata S Mohan, the chief mentor of the school. He further added while the schools will continue to remain closed, the students should be meaningfully engaged and made aware of precautions against COVID-19.

DC Kumar spoke very highly of the doctors, nurses, police officers, hygiene workers, bank employees who have moved ahead selflessly staying away from their families and are the true warriors. He expressed confidence that brighter days with healthier lives are soon to be here again.
