Chas (Jharkhand) : The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at DPS Chas in Bokaro District, Jharkhand on January 26, 2022.  The event began with the National Tricolour being unfurled by Deepali Bhuskute, Officiating Principal, DPS Chas. The teachers and the staff of the school, in tune with the school band sang the National Anthem creating an ambience raising devotion towards our motherland.

The spirit of Republic was glorified by the melodious rendition of patriotic song “Satrangi Raangon sa Ujjwal sa Paawan, Aisa Desh Hmara”. The other enchanting performance of the day was the dance on “Teri Mitti” showcasing the theme of the changing circumstances of life prior and post Covid.

In her message from Delhi, Dr Hemlata S Mohan, Chief Mentor, DPS Chas, highlighted the importance of Indian Constitution and its unique features. She emphasised that all students must uphold respect towards the constitution, ethically reaffirming the fundamental rights and duties that empower all of us. She added that the day is meant to thank our defence forces who are standing rock solid on the border and protecting us. She urged the students to be honest and truthful to the responsibilities which they are to shoulder to make a Self- Reliant India (“Atmabirbhar Bharat”). She highlighted the contribution of freedom fighters, our national heroes, and the constitution makers of our country.

Speaking on the occasion, Officiating Principal Deepali Bhuskute conveyed her greetings to the people including students and teachers on this auspicious occasion. She reiterated the motto of maintaining equality, justice, sovereignty, integrity, and fraternity in our nation.

The  programme was anchored by Anand Kumar and Archana Kumari while the vote of thanks was proposed by Birendra Singh.
