Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Sumit Gorai, 43, Science Teacher, Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro, Jharkhand, received the “Best Science Teacher Award” conferred by the Jharkhand Chapter of National Academy of Sciences, India ( NASI). The award function was held on February 26, 2021. prior to National Science Day.
Gorai was awarded to acknowledge his efforts and contributions as a science teacher at the school. He was one one of three teachers from Jharkhand to receive the award.
The Jharkhand Chapter of NASI instituted Best Science Teacher Award in 2017 to recognise the contributions of Science Teachers in cultivating the interest for science in young brains and motivating them to have a scientific temperament.
A S Gangwar, Principal, DPS Bokaro, expressed his happiness and congratulated Gorai. He said that such awards motivate all teachers to passionately participate in the teaching-learning process which in turn enhances the students’ interest and motivates them to have an inquisitive and scientific mind.
An elated Sumit Gorai said that it was a proud moment for him to receive the award. He expressed his gratitude to his students, supportive colleagues, and the Principal of the school for providing a congenial environment for scientific studies.
