Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : A S Gangwar, Principal, DPS Bokaro, Jharkhand, has been conferred on the ‘Best International Principal Award’ for the year 2020-21 by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). In recognition of his leadership qualities, path breaking initiatives for the cause of education and academic excellence of the students , the Academic Council of SOF has bestowed this honour on A S Gangwar. This award is all the more special this year as during the session 2020-21, the education sector faced unprecedented onslaught by the Covid-19 pandemic. As a leader, his role to motivate the team of teachers to stay focused on the education of the students with perseverance and dedication was highly appreciated all over the country.
SOF conducts National Science Olympiad, Indian Economics Olympiad, National Computer Olympiad, and International Mathematics Olympiad examinations, in 42,800 schools from over 1,400 cities spread across 22 countries of the world every year.
Gangwar is among the very few Principals from the Eastern zone to receive this award this year. Gangwar has also received several coveted recognitions for his service in the field of education including Sandipani Vishishth Gurujan Samman, Vidyapati Sikshak Samman, Progressive Principal Award, International Principal Award (2019–20),and the list goes on.
Expressing his gratitude, Gangwar thanked all the stakeholders. He said, “It is indeed ennobling influence to be acknowledged as the Best International Principal. However, no success is complete without the support of a dedicated team of staff, enthusiastic students, and supportive parents. It is the collaborative awareness and commitment that has helped us achieve what we are today. Every achievement is just another milestone that impels us to do better.”
