Bokaro (Jharkhand) : DPS Bokaro, Jharkhand, celebrated World Environment Day, on June 5, 2021, for encouraging action for the protection of the environment. The theme for World Environment Day for 2021 is ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ with the slogan ‘Reimagine, Recreate, Restore’.

Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S. Gangwar, on the occasion, planted a sapling and released the ‘Annual Planner’ of the school on the theme, ‘Sustainable Conservation’, which covered various aspects of conserving nature through beautiful paintings by the students of the school. The paintings prominently depict conservation of ‘Aquatic Animals’;  ‘Bio-Diversity’;  ‘Monuments’; ‘Landscape’; ‘Tribes’; ‘Rivers’; ‘Birds’; ‘Non-Renewable Energy’; ‘Mountains’; ‘Wildlife’ and   ‘Wetlands’.

Mohit Ghosh; Sneha Singh; Krish Raj; Piyush Mallick; Ankit Basu; Ayaan Nigam; Samyojita Thakur; Sanjivani Kumari; Satya Singh; Aryan Singh; Nikita Singh and Arjit Anukul contributed their paintings for the planner while Sakshi Priya has designed the cover.

To commemorate this special occasion, the school also organised various online competitions like creative writing pieces and powerpoint presentations to sensitise students on issues affecting the environment and celebrate the day in a fruitful manner.

Speaking on the occasion Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar, urged all the stakeholders to take pledge to save mother nature.  He said it is important to nurture the children in such a way that they shoulder the responsibility of caring for and preserving the environment.
