Bokaro (Jharkhand) :  A scintillating cultural  programme  including dances and songs upholding the rich cultural heritage of India marked the Biennial House Function (SANGAM) of  Ganga, Jamuna and Raavi Houses of DPS Bokaro in Jharkhand on November 15, 2019, evening, at Ashwaghosh Kala Bhavan. The gala show was highly appreciated by hundreds  of guests, parents, and students  at DPS Bokaro  present on  the occasion.

Sangam is a Biennial House Function where three of the six houses  (Jhelum, Sutlej, Chenab, Ganga, Raavi, and Jamuna) showcase their talent. Its grandeur became  even more radiant and inspiring due to the presence of Prabhat Kumar, DIG Police, Coal Range, Bokaro, as the chief guest of  the function. Chinoo Tandon, wife of Prabhat Kumar, was also present during the function.

The function commenced with bouquet presentation followed by the lighting of the lamp and welcome songs after which Ganga House wardens Farzana Begum and G Mariappan delivered the welcome address.

Speaking on the occasion, Prabhat Kumar, DIG, expressed his happiness to be associated with DPS, Bokaro, one of the best schools in the country. He congratulated all the parents apart from the students and teachers for putting in efforts that made the programme a grand success. He also urged the students to enjoy the present moment to its fullest and try to become a good human beings.

Principal, DPS Bokaro, A. S  Gangwar, appreciated the efforts made by the children, tutors and everybody responsible for making SANGAM a grand success. He stressed on the need to give equal opportunity to both education and culture. He said that in order to become a good human being all round development is required.

The entire programme was a visual treat; the vibrant dance presentations Baisakhi, Bhangra,  Krishna Vandana, and Ganesh Vandana along with the orchestral presentation of Lavani and Kajari, a song  by the tiny tots, was appreciated by the audience. The achievements of Ganga, Jamuna and Raavi Houses were read out by Jamuna House Warden Shephalika Nidhi. Finally, the glitz and glory of the grand event culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by Raavi House Wardens P Kalawati and Rani Premlata Jha.
